Crispy piyala Chaat


Ingredients:

Chickpeas ½ kg
(soaked overnight)
Red lentils ½ kg
Turmeric powder 1tsp
Potatoes(diced) 2
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Roll strips for serving

Ingredients for green chutney:

Fresh coriander ½ bunch
Mint ½ bunch
Green chillies 6
Tamarind pulp ½ cup
Sugar 2 tbsp
Salt to taste


Ingredients for garnishing:

Onions (chopped) ½ cup
Tomatoes ½ cup
Fresh coriander (chopped) ½ cup
Yogurt(beaten) 1 cup
Chaat masala as required

Method:

Blend oil Ingredients of special masala in blender. Blend separately all ingredients for chutney in a blender. Boil lentils, chickpeas, salt and turmeric in a pot until chickpeas become soft and lentils tender. When water is nearly dry, add potatoes and cook for 2 minutes. Heat oil in a work; place roll strip in sieve, press roll strip down with another sieve and immerse in work till fried golden; repeat process to make more crispy bowls. Put chickpeas in fried bowls.

Sprinkle chaat masala, yogurt, chutney, onions, tomatoes, fresh coriander and special chaat masala and serve
